SCIENCE
Our science program is “hands-on” from the Foss Science System. We will be studying weather, balance and motion, sound, and insects and their life cycles. Quarterly we receive a new science kit loaded with activities and explorations that enable the students to be actively engaged in the learning process. It might seem a bit chaotic to an outsider but it is exciting to a second grader. What you are seeing is a laboratory full of children who are discovering the joys and wonders of how different musical instruments produce sounds, watch mealworms change into beetles, learn why the weather changes, and make a class-size marble track as we learn about balance and motion.
I have high expectations. I expect learners to work hard and take responsibility for their learning. I will support them, guide them and help them to become passionate learners. I will provide them with an environment that is
nurturing, stimulating, and opens doors into a wonderful world around them.
